What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain (also called “ceramic”) material that are applied to the front of the tooth.
What do porcelain veneers do?
They only cover the front and sides of the tooth, so they are used to conceal and repair chips, scratches, stains, and other similar damage. They can correct spaces or crooked teeth, like having “instant braces.”
Should I get porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are a very common treatment for most people unhappy with the appearance of one or more teeth. If you would like to improve your smile, you can get the smile of your dreams in three easy steps. Hollywood smiles are not just for the stars.
How do they look?
They are custom-fit and custom-colored to match the rest of your teeth. Porcelain veneers are very thin — your teeth will not appear to have suddenly grown in size. The end result is very natural looking. Las Vegas Cosmetic Dentists Drs. Chin & Pharar use one of the best labs in the country. They work with their own master lab technicians that provided world class artistry in the fabrication of their veneers. These are advanced lab technicians that have received the same degree of advanced education that Drs. Chin & Pharar have received.
What is the procedure like?
For a detailed description of the procedure, see the porcelain veneer procedure page.
Porcelain veneers are custom made to fit the size and color of your natural teeth. The thin shell of porcelain is cemented onto the front of your tooth with dental cement. The cement gives the veneer the strength of a real tooth.
How long do the veneers last?
They should last for many, many years. Once they’re in place, veneers can be treated just like your regular teeth. Occasionally, veneers can crack – such as if you are in an accident – but they can also be repaired easily.
What do they cost?
This depends on the type and number of veneers you need. The only way to determine the exact cost is to meet with us for an initial porcelain veneers consultation.
We have a Cosmetic Dentistry Treatment Coordinator who will work you regarding financing options.
